Green Bay26 —Cowboys 21

Head Coach Jason Garret’s motto was Finish the Fight, while they lost this on Sunday, they gave it their all. And just like in a Championship Fight there is no shame when you leave at all on the ring or the field as our Cowboys did on Sunday.
By now we have all heard or read how Aaron Rodgers was basically operating all day on one leg, I know the play by play announcers hammered that all day. But how about Romo still having to take an injection before every game to be able to function with his pain from his last back operation. In addition he had a sore knee and tore a ligament on his ring finger but still went 15 of 19 for 191 yards 2 TDS no Pics and a QB rating of over 143 which makes him the first Quarterback with a QB rating of 125 or over to ever lose a playoff game. Again while Romo and team fell short on Sunday his heart and both physical and mental toughness should never come into question again. Antonio Ramiro Romo AKA Tony Romo has in my opinion had a MVP season as has Dez and Murray.
Which takes me to Murray not only has had a great season in spite of a broken hand and on Sunday in spite of a fumble that I believe appeared to be headed for a touchdown still managed 123 yards. As for Dez he fought hard and was robbed of what was at least a catch that would lead to a go ahead touchdown. Whitten was, as always a sure thing for a must have first down on his way to the Hall of Fame, Beasley and Williams were also special on Sunday. The surprise was fullback touchdown by Tyler Clutts which is something we have not seen since the Daryl Johnson days and of course the O line had another banner day. The only disappointing part was Baily missing 2 out of 3; he also missed one last week.
As for the defense, they were handicapped without Rolando McLain that went after only one drive in the first quarter with a head injury that could have been a carryover from last week. In addition Anthony Hitchens had to deal with a high ankle sprain that is not only painful but also very limiting. They gave up 366 yards and 3 TDs and over 100 yards on the ground. But still they gave a valiant effort and they not only had a decent game but a great season. They do not have anything to be ashamed of and if you do not agree I invite to revisit the 2013 season. .
Now as for the Dez catch, that turned into a no catch and had all of us saying “What the H.” Before I get into that directly and I have to say I have no problem with the call, some have said Beasley was alone out in the flat and maybe it was the safest call and would have resulted in a first down. But just as Jason Garret decided to go for it on 4th and 6 last week, I believe it was the right call. Jason was quoted as saying if you get into the Masters you don’t layup. Whether it was a Romo check off, or it was the call in my opinion it worked even if the officials overturned it. Dez was quoted as saying “If we have to lose that way, they can have it”.
By now you have heard all the explanations that the league has sent out but basically they said that you have to hold onto the ball throughout the process of catching the ball, so they contend that the replay shows that as he want down the ball came out slightly in their opinion. We all saw it and we disagree but in this case as all contested calls their opinion is what matters. Garret was quoted as saying “While not happy with call, we had 60 minutes to prove we were the best team, unfortunately we did not get it done.” Last Romo said “The season is over and that’s the biggest disappointment, the calls don’t go your way sometimes and that’s just part of the game.” And so there it is like or not, it is what it is, but I will not hang my head and if you are a true Cowboy Fan you will not either. I truly believe the best is yet to come!
