This game allows for many lead INS: This time our Mexican Won, Bill Murray finally gets it right ala Ground Hog Day and of course Rocky in Philly. And all may be valid but to me it was much like a prize fight, not Rocky versus Clubber Lang that was a movie, I mean more in the classic Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. mode. Chavez would very often wear down an opponent with body shots, which I believe our offense line does, sure you will get and get in a shot or two, but in the end it hurts too much to keep coming in.
Romo went 22 of 31 for 265 and 3 TDs, he also had a fumble or strip that I am sure made Romo-haters happy. However it was on a blown assignment or credit Eagles for winning the line battle this time and Romo trying to keep it alive. It was perhaps the biggest win for the Cowboys in the last 10 years or more and personally for Romo may be the biggest. Of course, it is not all about the Quarterback but, without a good performance from your QB and your offense line, it is not easy just ask Philly about Sanchez the other Mexican in this fight.

Murray was held to under 100 yards as he went for 81 yards; however he had key runs that not only moved the chains but also ate up time. In fact they had the ball for 41 minutes last night. As for Dez, he hauled in 3 big touchdowns and had 117 yards and had his biggest game yet. However we must give the Philly defense an assist for giving Dez single coverage several times last night, which was a pleasant surprise. In fact Romo gave the thumbs up signal once or twice which I interpret as yes that’s the coverage we wanted, Dez you know what to do. Whitten was also big last night with 3rd down receptions. Normally blocking tight end Hannah had a big one last night, all receivers played well.
In my preview piece I used the old saying ‘The best defense is a good offense” and yes the offense kept the ball 41 minutes last night. But the defense held up when it counted in spite of a blown 21 point lead and 24 unanswered Philly points. They kept the Philly offense to just under 300 yards, McCoy was kept to only 64 yards after ripping the Cowboy defense in first meeting for over 150. Sanchez was intercepted twice, sacked 4 times and hurried numerous times. J.J. Wilcox forced a fumble and pulled in a Pic. Mincey had 2 sacks on his birthday; Tyrone Crawford had 2 as well. As I wrote before this is not a reincarnation of the Dallas Doomsday defense but they do appear to be a united group that expects to win. And that goes for the whole team, I see the offense talking to the defense and vice versa however as Orlando Scandrick said last night ‘We have not really won anything yet we need to keep our heads down, have tunnel vision and move on to the next opponent.” Indianapolis is next on our schedule. I like our chances to win with this Team!
