Every Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM, from April to November on the corner of Carroll and Mulberry in Denton, there is a place where sellers who make or grow their own products have a market.

According to the founder and vendor coordinator, Kati Trice, it is a unique place where the setting is a “celebration of Denton” because buyers can find products, food, and items that have been handcrafted by residents of Denton.

Kati invites vendors and buyers to visit the Market encouraging all of the Denton community to visit a place where vendors have the opportunity to display products that they themselves created or grew in their own gardens. She hopes that all will feel welcome and that they will feel a “sense of place.” The purpose of the Market is to create an atmosphere that encourages pride in the Denton community, strengthening ties between community members, and that it will be a place where you can meet and get to know your neighbors.

“We have two main rules,” Kati explains, “First, it is a producer only market. Vendors must make or grow their own products. Second, the craft item or agricultural product that is sold at the Denton Community Market must have been made or grown no further than 100 miles from Denton.

Vendors present unique items that are an important part of the local market experience for visitors. The vendor community includes local growers, on-site and prepared food vendors, food-trucks, and creators of a diverse mix of handmade arts and crafts.

The Market experience is completed with the performances and talents of local musicians. There are also fun activities for young children.

The Hispanic/Latino community is encouraged to take part in the Denton Community Market. It is a place where handicrafts, art, music, and food can showcase the beauty of our culture.
