Statement From Fort Worth ISD About School Bus Incident

Fort Worth ISD takes student transportation and safety seriously and reviewed the available video related to this incident.

Based on the review, a school employee escorted the two students onto the incorrect bus and remained there while other students boarded. The school employee eventually exited the bus and continued to check students before they boarded.  Once the school employee had checked off all of the students the driver departed the campus.

The bus departed the school at approximately 3:21 p.m., and the students were dropped off at approximately 3:47 p.m. Their regular drop-off time would have been approximately 3:31 p.m.

The campus has now implemented a color-coded system to help ensure students are directed to and board the correct buses. 

The safety and well-being of our students remain our highest priority, and we will continue to review and strengthen our transportation procedures as needed.
