The National Pan American Golf Association Tournament

The National Pan American Golf Association tournament to be held in Fort Worth this month will have some of the State’s top amateur golfers trying to put together two days of low scores.

The competition includes from Fort Worth the combination of Dad Ted Govea and his son Ryan Govea.  They have won numerous tournaments in Fort Worth. They have been going back and forth all year sharing the lead in a bunch of those tournaments.  Both say they plan to win the National Championship. I talked to Ryan’s dad, he said “I didn’t show him everything. I still have a couple of tricks up my sleeve”. It is going to be interesting to see how this comes out.

In the meantime Andrew Mendoza another top golfer from Fort Worth is thinking, we will see.

A few of the top PAGA players that have committed thus far from around the country include:

Jose Galvan for Austin with a 3.2 handicap,

Robert Cordona from Corpus Christie with a .5 handicap

Larry Johnson Jr. from Dallas with a .1 handicap

Jeff Williams from Temple a 4.6 handicap

Curtis Porter from Victoria with .6 handicap

Diego Garcia with a 3.4 handicap from Wichita, Kansas

The National PAGA Tournament and convention is being held the last week from July 27 through July 31.  So if you see some golfers out there that week who don’t look familiar just say “Howdy, Welcome to Fort Worth”.
