FWISD PARENTS TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE AHEAD OF TUESDAY BOARD MEETING

Several months into the state takeover of Fort Worth ISD, parents are still waiting for answers.
The takeover administration, including the Board of Managers, Superintendent Peter Licata,
and the newly created “Chiefs,” has hosted a series of "listening sessions" meant to ease
parent concerns. Not one has led to a substantial change. Not one has answered the questions
parents keep asking. Meanwhile, the culture of fear this administration has created extends
beyond parents and students. Teachers and staff say they are unable to advocate for
themselves without fear of retaliation. The latest board agenda and a newly restricted public
comment process make clear this administration still is not taking FWISD parents and
taxpayers seriously.
