I learned many lessons in the military. One was that a college education does not make you smarter or wiser. So why do we make it easier for money to disappear? There are many examples that people walk away with money that was not theirs, too many to list. The Abbott and the Republicans just added another way for money to disappear; it is called school choice. Five years from today we can go back and see how much of that money made it to pay for school choice or more important how much of the money actually just disappeared.

I will be using the word Latino to describe us because we are not all Tejano, and I don't like the word Hispanic. So, I will use the word Latino to describe us regardless of what part of the Latino world we come from.
I am going to recommend that you go to the library and read the star- telegram so you have a better understanding of the issues that we will be talking about. From what I read in the paper the people from state are busy dismantling the Fort Worth ISD administration building. They are bringing a communist style of education to Fort Worth ISD. When America was defeated in Vietnam and the communists took over, they created reeducation camps. Those Vietnamese that had been loyal to America and who had helped America were sent to reeducation camps. We promised the Vietnamese that if helped us, that if the time ever came that Vietnam had defeated us, that we would bring them back to America. We lied.
How do we know that the Republicans are not doing the same thing to us. They control the content of the books at the library, they control the content of the books at school, they control the content of the books that we buy. We are living in a communist country. Putting the 10 commandments in school is the equivalent of putting Hitler's Mein Kampf in school, they both serve the same purpose brainwashing you.
Money that is taken away from the public-school fund We're still resources from an already impoverished school district. So, if anybody gets hurt by what the state is doing it is children that are going to public schools. It is called robbing Peter to pay Paul. Wouldn't be so bad if Peter wasn't broke.
The real question is, how is this going to improve public education?
